Safe Battle Code

WABF SAFE BATTLE CODE

Compete hard. Respect everyone. This code applies to participants, judges, staff and audience at every event using the WABF standard.

THE BATTLE IS AGAINST THE PERFORMANCE, NOT AGAINST THE PERSON.

NO DRUGS

NO ALCOHOL

NO VIOLENCE

NO WEAPONS

NO HARASSMENT

NO DISCRIMINATION

At events with minors, smoking and vaping are also banned inside the official event area. Organizers may remove participants or attendees who compromise safety.

ACCIDENTAL VS DELIBERATE CONTACT

Deliberate physical contact is never allowed, but not all contact is treated the same way.

ACCIDENTAL CONTACT

May happen in the heat of an action or response. The head judge assesses the situation and decides whether the battle continues, with no automatic sanction.

DELIBERATE OR AGGRESSIVE CONTACT

Pushing, hitting, grabbing or any intentional contact carries a sanction: a warning, yellow card or red card depending on severity, which can end in disqualification.

YOUTH SAFETY

Child protection principles at WABF events.

  • Safe, supervised environment
  • Clearly identified responsible person

  • Harassment and violence forbidden
  • Sexually inappropriate conduct forbidden
  • Do not expose minors unnecessarily
  • Personal data protection
  • Image consent separate from registration
  • Guardian and emergency phone on record
  • Signed participation authorization

LEGAL NOTICE

Legal obligations vary by country. Each organizer is responsible for complying with local law. WABF provides a general framework, not local legal advice.
