FAQ

FREQUENTLY ASKED QUESTIONS

What families, schools and organizers ask most before their first Aura Battle.

What is an Aura Battle?

A 1vs1 or 2vs2 face-off where participants alternate actions and responses, competing with presence, creativity and the ability to respond, without physical contact.

How long does it last?

There is no official duration in seconds. The battle is defined by the number of exchanges the organizer sets; WABF recommends 10.

How do you win?

In community mode, the result is decided by live vote, applause, judges or a mix, chosen by the organizer. For big events, the WABF Pro Scoring can be turned on, combining judges, digital vote and applause.

Who can compete?

WABF has three official age divisions: Children (5–12), Youth (13–17) and Adults (18+). Competitions using the official standard do not mix age divisions. Organizers can still use WABF tools with custom age ranges when needed.

Do I need judges?

Not in community mode: the crowd can decide everything. With WABF Pro Scoring, 3 judges are recommended (avoid using 2, due to tie risk).

How does the crowd applaud or vote?

The organizer creates a room with a code and a QR. The crowd joins from their phone and votes; one vote per device or session is allowed.

Do I need an app?

No. Everything runs from the phone's browser, with nothing to install.

Do I need an account?

No. The organizer creates the room and the crowd joins with the code, with no sign-up.

Can I use a sound meter?

Yes. The applause meter (WABF Crowd Sound) measures how loudly the crowd cheers using the phone's microphone, or a professional sound meter, processed on the spot with no recording.

Can I have several age groups in the same event?

Yes.

Can I run 1vs1 and 2vs2 in the same event?

Yes.

Can I use several ways to decide the winner?

Yes.

Can the site draw the matchups?

Yes.

Do winners advance automatically?

Yes, when the event uses a bracket.

Can I stop a battle?

Yes. You can leave it pending or cancel it, and it will stop showing as in progress.
